The Ritual Practice
A guided practice for reconnecting with yourself and creating space for what matters most.
*Pre-sale item. Journals are currently in production and are expected to ship October 2026.
The Ritual Practice is a way to make space for yourself in the middle of everything you are carrying, creating, and becoming.
- The Ritual Practice brings together three elements of the practice: the journal that holds your thinking over time, the guide that gives it direction, and the candle that marks the moment you begin. Everything comes together in a keepsake box designed to hold the practice, and eventually, the pieces of your story that become worth keeping.
Each piece works on its own. Together, they create something more complete: a deliberate space to create a practice of noticing, capturing, returning, connecting, and becoming.
Pre-Order Details
The Ritual Practice is currently in production. Your card is charged at checkout, and orders are expected to ship in October 2026 — we'll send tracking as soon as your box is on its way.
The Ritual was born on Kickstarter, where it was selected as a "Project We Love" and funded at over 150% of its $1,500 goal (as of September 3, 2026). See the original campaign.
Pre-Order Cancellations & Delays
Because pre-order items are charged at the time of purchase, you may cancel your pre-order for a full refund any time before it ships. Just email hello@siennaandslate.com with your order number.
If a pre-order's ship date moves significantly beyond the window stated on the product page, we'll email you with an update. If you'd rather not wait, you're welcome to cancel for a full refund at that point as well.
Once your order ships, our standard 30-day return policy applies.
Reconnect with yourself
- Catch yourself mid-scroll and put the phone down without finishing the video.
- Notice you're tired before you're at the point of snapping at someone who didn't deserve it.
Gain clarity about what matters
- Skip the thing you signed up for out of guilt, not desire.
- Say the yes you actually mean, instead of the one that's easier to give.
Make meaning from your experiences
- Find two entries from different months and realize they're saying the same thing.
- Read something you wrote in a hard week and see it differently now that you're not in it.
Move beyond autopilot
- Pause mid-meeting to check if you actually agree, instead of nodding out of habit.
- Notice the same thing in three different conversations and ask what you're bringing into the room.
Create a practice you can return to
- Come back after missing three weeks and pick up on the next page, no catching up required.
- Light the candle on a Tuesday for no reason other than you need five minutes.
Give your inner life a place to live
- Tuck the letter, the ticket stub, the note into the box instead of losing it in a drawer.
- Open the box a year from now and find the version of yourself who needed this most.

Built for real life
Reflection that fits into the life you already have, not the life you'd need to clear space for.
Built for intention
A pause built into your day, not a retreat from it.
Built for Depth
A practice you return to, not a habit you keep up with.
Your Practice Can Make Room for Someone Else's
The Ritual is about creating space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. We believe that kind of space should not be reserved for only those who can afford it.
Through the Reflection Forward Initiative, your purchase helps extend access to journals and reflection resources to people and communities who need a place to think, process, and make meaning too.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in The Ritual Practice?
The Ritual Practice includes The Ritual Journal, The Reflection Guide: Becoming, a wooden wick candle, and a magnetic keepsake box designed to hold the practice and the things that become meaningful along the way.
Do I need to use everything together?
No. Each piece can be used on its own. The journal gives your thoughts a place to land, the guide gives you a way to begin, and the candle marks the moment you choose to pause. The keepsake box gives the practice and what emerges from it a place to be kept.
How do I use The Ritual Practice?
There is no prescribed way to use it. You might begin with a prompt from Becoming, write in the journal, light the candle, or simply sit with what is present. The practice is designed to meet you where you are.
Do I have to journal every day?
No. There is no rigid schedule or daily commitment. Return to the practice when you need space to think, reflect, reconnect, or begin again.
But I like routine. Will this work for me if I don't want to just wing it?
Absolutely. The Reflection Guide gives you 30 prompts to work through, the Return Index gives you a system for revisiting entries, and the Connection Prompts give you a specific way to work with what you've written. There's structure here. What we left out is the pressure to keep it up daily or catch up on missed days. You can move through the guide, one prompt at a time in any order, and still have a consistent practice, it just doesn't come with a streak to break.
What is The Ritual Guide: Becoming?
Becoming is the first guide in The Ritual series. It contains 30 prompts designed to help you slow down and notice who you are, where you are, and what is taking shape in your life.
Can I use the Reflection Guide without the journal?
Yes. Becoming can be used on its own or alongside The Ritual Journal. The journal simply gives you a dedicated place to capture what emerges from your reflection.
What is the keepsake box for?
The box is designed to become part of the practice, not simply packaging. Use it to keep your journal, letters, photographs, keepsakes, or pieces of your story that deserve a home. It is meant to be kept and used long after your first practice.
Is The Ritual Practice a productivity system?
No. It is not designed to help you organize more tasks or become more productive. It is a space to slow down, notice what matters, and reconnect with yourself.
Is The Ritual Practice a good gift?
Yes. It can mark a new chapter, a transition, a milestone, or simply the desire to create more intentional space for reflection. It offers more than an object. It offers a practice you can return to.
